A Taste of Hawaii: The No Ka Oi...Your new favorite summer cocktail
Inspired by the popular Merriman restaurant group in Hawaii, one of our food and cocktail partners set out to recreate the "No Ka Oi" cocktail of Monkeypod. This cocktail features Thai basil, lime, and lilikoi honey puree. Incredibly refreshing, and worth the effort, you'll be making this one all summer.
To make the honey lilikoi (passionfruit) foam: whip in a blender 2 parts passion fruit puree (or pineapple puree), 2 parts simple syrup, 2 parts egg white, 1 part honey, and 4 parts ice cold water until you have smooth foam
For the cocktail: muddle 5 Thai basil leaves with 1.5 ounces vodka, 1 ounce lime juice. Add 1 ounce of puree foam and shake on ice in a cocktail shaker. Strain into some Fioretto Drinkware and top with 0.5-1 ounce additional foam to taste.
